Frantz Kantor has created character's his whole life. The strangest things that spring up in his imagination get executed almost every sleepless night of the week only to end up in my inbox by the morning as singing, dancing talking, walking animations. Which is why we were so stoked when M&C Saatchi requested he illustrate the 3 characters you see across the Optus executions below. Not only was it a brilliant opporutnity for Frantz to excel at what he does best in 3D and photoshop but it gave us a break from the twisted machinations he devises on his own.
Below the 3 final advertisement layouts below you can see Frantz Kantor's pencils placed above the final artwork. We like to show Frantz's pencils as they are one of the greastest strengths he has. Especially when he does them on average within 24 hours to give his Art Director as accurate an indication as possible of where his mind is at with the execution of the brief. That way the execution can be tweaked until the creative team feels confident they are going to get what they want, before all the highly finished photographic renderring begins. To do this right requires extremely solid drawing skills. Skills like those developed by Frantz Kantor.
So a big heartfelt thanks to Adrienne Connell who managed the project through and the rest of the creative team at M&C Saatchi,
Executive Creative Director – Ben Welsh
Optus Creative Group Head – Paul Carpenter
Senior Art Director – Susan Dearn
Senior Copywriter – Mitch Alison.
