Illustrators like Chris Wahl never stop drawing. Sometimes it's for warming up other times it's just the natural way for them to share their opinions with others. All the time the results are great.

In this case Chris Wahl drew portraits of Paul Newman and Michael Jackson last year to practice executing celebrity likeness as well as experiment with a new style. When Sydney agency, The Furnace briefed us for an agressive style in which they could represent their sponsored athletes, the two portraits of Paul Newman and Michael Jackson hit the mark for them.

Scroll below to see the various stages of Chris Wahl's process as well as the experimental portraits that defined the style.
