The sound of tearing heart strings permeated the studios when Billmund accepted this commission for Vision Australia. Those sounds lasted from Billmund's first pencil to his final artwork.
Billmund's portfolio usually pokes fun at society by exposing the darker side of today's popular culture, fashion and personalities with unabashed bright colours which test our preconceptions of superficial sweetness and innocence.
It's true that to acknowledge light in an image the image also needs to have shade. Likewise, for Billmund to depict sinister characters he had to learn what made a character seem sweet. It was this learning process that developed his ability to draw "cute" and the images below of a baby reindeer prove just how polished those skills are.
