Drawing Book Studios// About
Who are we and what do we do?
Drawing Book Studios is a collection of individuals whom have been selected to best serve:
- Art Directors who take pride in the originality of their ideas.
- Art Buyers who want to deal with a studio that takes responsibility for getting the job done on time and on budget at the highest quality.
- Any organization looking for striking imagery in order to stand out in the market or persuade investors.
- Creative people with an idea that needs to look great in front of their respective audiences and get their idea across.
Drawing Book Studios understands:
- The importance of time to our clients.
- The only way to get the best result in the fastest time is a clear understanding of the brief.
- What makes each of our illustrators individual and how to get the best from them.
- We prioritise creating circumstances under which each artist can do their best work for every project.
What makes Drawing Book Studios unique?
It's the illustrators we choose and the people that represent them.
The agents at Drawing Book Studios view a potential artist's portfolio every week and only select those artists with the highest quality illustrations and the lowest amount of overlap in style. To us "highest quality" is defined by reliability and speed of service as well as the highest standard pencils and final artwork.
Matt Jackson and Jennifer Wills
...are the dedicated agents acting on the behalf of all the incredible illustrators at Drawing Book Studios. Their experience in the Advertising Industry gives them a hunger for what makes every brief different. The fact they average around 30 briefs a week gives them the breadth of experience required to problem solve urgent requests so that artwork is delivered on time, everytime, at the highest possible standard.
Prior to running Drawing Book Studios Matt Jackson spent 5 years pin-balling between the Arts and Commerce faculties of Melbourne University ending the game with the highest score in Marketing communications and distinctions in Brand Management and Creative Writing. In many ways Commerce felt like the natural enemy of Arts and he expressed the frustration by illustrating a 5 panel comic strip called SOLDOUT which was published for 2 years. After graduating, the pin-balling was perpetuated in Sydney during a career in advertising that lasted over 6 years with DDB, Saatchi & Saatchi and BMF. In August 2005 the pin-balling stopped when he arrived at Drawing Book Studios.
The addition of Jennifer Wills to the studio brings a hands on understanding of what an Art Buyer goes through managing ideas through the creative process. She came to Drawing Book Studios after having spent 5 years in the Art Buyer role at DDB Sydney. Prior to that Jennifer worked as a production manager handling the logistics of promotions and prior to that she worked in publishing as a Pictorial Editor. The benefit to our clients is that more so than ever we aren't afraid to take responsibility for project management if it helps take the pressure off our clients.
Now stop reading the preaching and start perusing the wonderful illustrations that are the reason behind all this, then allow us to prove it to you.
Thank you,
DBS
